Divemaster,
this is the first part of being a diving professional. Once you are certified
you will receive a permanent certification number that will be exclusively
yours as you continue on in your diving career. Being a Divemaster is very
rewarding as it is now that you will be able to assist the instructors
in the teaching of students. One great thing about getting your certification
with Tall Pine Scuba is that you will be working with 6 Instructors. In
being able to work with so many instructors throughout your training you
will be able to see the different techniques used in conducting training.
Course Overview: The PADI Divemaster course is performance-based, so duration
is based on logistics, candidates performance, and class size. The course
is divided into 3 phases, knowledge development, water skills and stamina,
and practical application. The knowledge development establishes the foundation
candidates need as professional-level divers and for continuing on to the
PADI Assistant Instructor and Instructor levels. Knowledge development
consists of 12 topics. The role and characteristics of a PADI Divemaster,
supervising diving activities for certified divers, assisting with student
divers in training, dive theory introduction, physics, physiology, equipment,
decompression theory and dive tables, Divemaster conducted programs, risk
management, business of diving, and furthering your diving career.
